Environmental Choice

 

Recognising trends and responding to them is a positive practice for any organisation. The environmental trend is one that as educators and suppliers to the educational market, New Zealand schools and Furnware have started to take much more seriously.

 There are plenty of schools who have adopted recycling programs, have worm and compost farms, and have included sustainability into their curriculum.

 

Furnware was determined that the products we produce fit with this developing ethos in schools so decided to make some drastic changes!

 

After exhaustive testing of our suppliers and our manufacturing practises and materials, we invited the auditors at Environmental Choice into our business to assess how our products are manufactured right through the supply chain and including our in-house practises.

 

Furnware is delighted to announce that our school furniture products have achieved a standard that only one other furniture supplier in New Zealand – Formway – has been able to attain and have been awarded the Environmental Choice license in the furniture and fitting category. This means that when you buy licensed products from Furnware you know you are buying with the environment and sustainability at the forefront of your decision making process.

Stakeholders from across the company have benefited from the changes made, from the factory workers who work with friendlier solvents and materials, to Account Managers who have confidence in the products they are representing and feel positive about the contribution Furnware makes to schools.
