Stunning fabric combinations give shared spaces a real WOW factor.

The combination of warm textures and an earthy colour palette has created a sophisticated yet homely feel for these common areas at St Augustine’s College. The senior students can study independently, work collaboratively or simply relax with their peers on furniture that can easily be reconfigured.

We were thrilled to continue our wonderful partnership with Vicky Lewis, Information Services Coordinator at St Augustine’s College, Sydney and work together on two new senior shared spaces. It had been a busy year for the School, with the opening of two new facilities, a full refurbishment of an existing building, as well as the modernisation of the Augustine Resource Centre.

Vicki Lewis went for a more mature look with soft furnishings in complementary colours.

Vicki wanted a sophisticated look for the senior spaces and because this was a completely unique brief to the other projects, it required six months of intensive consultation and planning.  Integrating fabric with vinyl was a significant change for the College but has proven to be the right choice given the student’s age and year level; it looked great aesthetically and is perfect for absorbing noise.

Recline Couches and Rectangular Tables are great for group work.

Completed in late 2015, these spaces are a modern yet flexible sanctuary for nearly 250 senior students.  Split across two levels, the lounge areas are identical apart from the colour palettes.  The versatility of the furniture and workspaces lets the students study independently, work collaboratively or simply relax and socialise.
